Dinner @ Orkid... (Best Fish Head Curry in AS)

Today, my father brought my family for dinner at Orkid Tropika Cafe, where the best fish head curry is served. This restaurant is located off Jalan Langgar.
Orkid Tropika Cafe...
Bejing Coke...
Kapa...
The main course... Curry Fish Head...
The food is very nice. Curry Fish Head is superb! Only thing is, not much fish meat. :-( I don't really like the kapa, somehow the taste doesn't jive.

I give this restaurant a 9 out of 10 rating.

The new church, up and ready!

The new church is almost ready! In less than a week, Wesley Methodist will be moving in into it!

Here are some snapshots of the new centenary:

Well, everything is still a little untidy and dirty... The toilets are not cleaned yet, and the floor is very dirty... I expect it will be clean for tomorrow's first service...

Wall-E, the movie...

The following in day in Sitiawan, my father dropped me, my lil sis, my aunt and my grandmother at the newly opened cinema to watch Wall-E.
The new cinema in Sitiawan...
The movie is about a robot, after hundreds of lonely years of doing what he was built for, Wall-E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek search robot named Eve. Eve comes to realize that Wall-E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet's future, and races back to space to report her findings to the humans (who have been eagerly awaiting word that it is safe to return home). Meanwhile, Wall-E chases Eve across the galaxy.
This movie is very nice.... Love it... I give it a rating 9 out of 10...

Supper at McD...

After a long journey, and a brilliant dinner, I was getting hungry again, and so was my lil sister. My father had earlier on promised me and my lil sis that for supper, we would get to go McD! But in the end, only me and my dad went. My lil sis wanted to watch tv...

Sitiawan has a 24-hour McD, and Alor Star still doesn't have. Sad.... McD is so much nicer than KFC. And Alor Star is already a CITY, and Sitiawan is not a city yet. Why does Sitiawan has these kind of facilities and Alor Star doesn't have?

My father and I ordered onion rings and a large coke, because we wanted to test the WiFi there. Turns out that the WiFi speed in McD is fast...

Snapshots in McD, Sitiawan:

After buying supper for me and my lil sis, we headed back to my grandparent's house.

An ancient toy in my grandparent's house...

Every time I go back to Sitiawan with my parents, my lil sister and I will play this ancient toy. It was bought since my father's generation. It is already at least 30 years old, older than me! This toy is called "Table Badminton Set".The box is very old already. Here is the badminton thingy. This the racket you use to shoot the shuttlecock in the hole. It is quite hard to shoot it into a hole, because it hard to adjust your power. The shuttlecock either flies too far, or doesn't cross the net. The yellow racket has gone missing though.

I'm very surprised that it is still in good condition. Nowadays, the plastic toys do not last. I played with my lil rainbow two games. She won the first game, but she lost the second game. She won the first game, 140-50. I lost... :-( But I came back in the second game, beating her 220 - 20.

It was quite fun...

Day drive, the game...

School just started three days ago. To relieve the school stress, I decided to pay freeonlinegames a visit instead of miniclip, because miniclip's games are getting boring.

Well, day drive is street racing. There are three cars, you don't get to choose, but you get to use them at different levels. The path of the racing is same at easy, medium and hard, which makes it a little boring.
When I played easy, I got to use the blue car. When I first drove, it was rather hard to control, maybe I needed getting used to.
Easy level results...
I drove at a constant speed of 212 km/h. Haha... I finished the race in 3:03:55 minutes.
Medium level results....
My average speed this time lower, 209 km/h Haiz... This time, it took a little longer to finish the race, 3:05:64 minutes. This time, I got to use the red car...
In the game (Hard level)
I got to use the green car. My average speed same as the easy level. Does this mean this level is easier than the medium level??? Haha... I finished this level, clocking 3:03:48, the fastest of all levels. What is the difference between all the levels? Just get to use different cars?

Tip: If you find it hard to steer 90 degree turns, drive through the boxes.

I give this game a rating 8/10.

Trip back to Sitiawan...

Last Friday, my parents to me and my whole family down to Sitiawan, to visit my grandparents. Every holiday, without fail, my family will find some time to visit them. We started on Friday evening. We took off at about 5:30 p.m. We arrived at around eight. We had dinner at our usual restaurant every time we come down to Sitiawan, that is Restaurant Goping. And for your info, Sitiawan is in Perak, Malaysia.

Since my parents are 'fu chow', they ordered 'fu chow' food. I've blogged about this restaurant before, click here to read it.
Tofu...Mixed veggie...Clams in dried chilli...Fried fish...
To tell you the truth, clams doesn't go well with dried chilli. The fried fish and tofu is one of the nicer dishes of 'fu chow' food. The mixed veggie ok ok la...

After dinner, we headed for my grandparents house...

Masters of Wrestlings, the game...

Holiday time, nothing much to do at home. So, I decided to pay miniclip a visit. Holidays are just so boring. Away from friends at school. Nothing much to do, except to catch up on studies. Haiz...

Well, this game, is about pinning your opponent down for 3 seconds. Sound easy, huh? Here is the main page. You get to choose one of the four players. The players are the same actually, just different costumes and names. There is the Roaring Jack, The Panter, Gold Digger and Cossack Yuri.I picked Gold Digger (the one above), because he looks more muscular than the rest. Haha...
My first opponent, The Panter. It was very easy to beat him.The first match results...
Match 2 Results...
Match 3 results...
Well, this game has only 3 rounds, which makes it easy to finish. Well, the graphics of this game is ok ok la... But, the fighting action, sucks! Haiz... Boring la... It is not like Basketball Slam or EURO Cup 2008...

I give this game a rating of 5/10.

Dinner @ Kaede...

Since today is a Thursday night, my mother, me and my sister decided to have dinner at Kaede, a Japanese restaurant. Well, I must say, it is rather packed on a Thursday night. It is located opposite Pacific.Partial menu...
Well, I must say, that this restaurant has a variety of choices. One of the nicer, in fact the nicest Japanese restaurant in Alor Star. The ambiance is quite nice too. Here are a few pictures:Well, I had Bento C, which is the main course is chicken katsu. I want to comment that, Japanese meals are complete. You have, fruit, protein, carbohydrate, fibre.... everything essential for a balanced diet..
I can't remember what this is called, but it is nice.
My sis's fav, baby octopus...
Jellyfish...
Well, the food is not bad. I give a rating of 9 out 10. A must try for Japanese food lovers...

Well, today athletic Yuan Yufang failed to complete the women's 20 km walk. Sigh... She went out due to muscle cramps at the 12 km mark, which was too bad for her...

Taekwondo Elaine Teo was a big upset. I thought she would win another medal for Malaysia, but failed. She participated in the taekwondo category women's below 57 kg. In the opening match, she lost to Turkey's Azize Tanrikulu. In the first round, she still lost to an American, Diana Lopez, 0-3. The American had a height advantage, because she was 1.85 m tall.

Anwar: "Promote smart students"

Anwar said: "All races should be given equal opportunities". Yes! I couldn't agree more. All RACES should be given EQUAL opportunities. Students who have potential should be given a chance to pursue further in their studies, REGARDLESS of their race and students.

Why should the opportunity be given to the Malays only? If a Chinese or Indian does well, he or she should be given the opportunity also. We live in a country called Malaysia, where Indians, Chinese and Malays live in peace and harmony. If someone asks you, where are you from. Do you say that you are a Chinese? Malay? Or Indian? NO! You would say you are a Malaysian! Because we live together in one country!

Who will benefit if the Chinese and Indians are given the opportunity to pursue their studies? The government! The economy of the country!

So, do you agree with me and Anwar that equal opportunity should be given to everyone? I agree with Anwar on this matter...

12th day in Beijing, Team Malaysia (continued)..

For previous results, click here.

Today, in diving, Pandelela Rinong took part in the woman's 10m platform preliminaries. Can imagine that she is only 15 years old? She must be the youngest Malaysian to qualify for the Olympics. Her first performance was the lowest among 29 divers. Scoring only 36.45. She finished 27th place out of 29 divers.

Diver Pandelela Rinong OUT

Well, Chong Wei... LOST! (updated)

RM 1 million, bye bye! Lee Chong Wei lost to Lin Dan 12-21, 8-21. I've never seen Chong Wei lost so badly to Lin Dan. Chong Wei was good, but Lin Dan was better.

In the second set, Lin Dan was leading 8 points, before Chong Wei scored his first point... Well, he failed to bring back the gold medal for Malaysia, but at least he is the one who bring back a medal for Malaysia. We should be proud of him!

He will still get his RM300,000 reward, for bringing back a silver medal, and a RM3,000 monthly, under the Olympic incentive scheme....

GO CHONG WEI!

Updated: Walao! Get silver medal also get Datukship. I wanna go Olympics and get a medal too. Haha... Then, I would be called Datuk Daniel. Haha... Well, Lee Chong Wei is know, Datuk Lee Chong Wei. Congrats to him!

Gold Medals but not Gold Medals in Beijing Olympics 2008...

Did you know the gold medals awarded in the Beijing Olympics are made up of mostly silver? Every gold medal in the Olympics only contain 6% of pure gold, and the rest is silver.

Gold medals should be made up of more gold right? Then only call gold medal ma... At least 90% gold ma...

Well, today Aunt P.L. decided to bring me and Chew for dinner at Kenny Rogers...I and Aunt P.L. talked about Chemistry on the way there. And yes! I must agree with her, doing experiments is the best way to understand Chemistry!
What I ate...
The counter

Olympicing online: Basketball

I was really fascinated when I saw basketball, China vs. USA, live on TV. So, I decided to pay basketball too, e-basketball. Haha!

Well, this game is like normal basketball, except that there are only three players instead of five. I wrote about basketball a long time ago, you can read it here. Well, basically, basketball is a game about scoring as many baskets (points) as possible. The team that scores most wins, like when USA defeated China (Men) 101 to 70.

Well, i found this game at miniclip, called Basketball Slam. Basketball Slam, the game...
Front page...
There are a few teams to choose from in this game, eight teams in all. I chose Villains. In the quarter finals, i faced my first opponent, the Yankees. In this game, it is the best of three to win the match. I struggled in the first match, I was trying to get used to the controls. The score was tied in the first half. I won my first match against the Yankees, 20 ti 19, but a fluke 3 pointer. The second match was an easy match. I won 31 to 13.
In the game...
I proceeded into the semi-finals, meeting the Sailors.I won the first match with some resistance, 21 to 16. I started the second match well in the first half with a 9 point lead. But in the second half, I some how lost 24 to 26. I decided to fight back in the deciding match and won with much resistance, 22 to 16.

Next, the finals, Villains against the Cows!
Villains (me) slam dunking the ball into the hoop...
The final score, 33 to 17. I won!!!!
The Final Results...
This game is quite good, except there is no fouls. You can dribble back and forth the court. It is quite hard to snatch the ball from the opponent (or maybe I haven't mastered the skill). But overall, this game is quite good. I give this game a rating of 7/10.
