In archery, Cheng Chu Sien made it to the quarter-finals by beating Lee Chang-hwan of South Korea. The results were pretty close, tying 105-105, shooting the extra round, first time 9-9, but second time, 10-9. But he then lost to Russia's Badenov Bair 104-109.
In badminton, Lee Chong Wei beat Lee Hyun-il of Korea in three sets. Chong Wei nearly lost. He beat the Korean guy, 21-18, 13-21, 21-13. He has proceeded to the finals! He has ensured Malaysia a medal!!!
In cycling, Azizul Hasni Awang, Josiah Ng and Mohd Edrus Yunus finished 7th out of 13 countries in the team sprint event, which was good. They also set a new national record of 44.725.
In diving, Elizabeth Jimre and Leong Mun Yee took part in 3m springboard preliminaries, but failed to qualify.
In shooting, Hasli Izwan Amin Hasan did badly in the men's 25m rapid fire pistol. He only got 279 points and finished 16th out of 19 shooters.
In swimming, Leung Chii Lin took part in the 50m freestyle heats and finished 6th in heat 8, clocking 26.75, missing the national record by 0.57 seconds. She was placed 48th out of 90 swimmers.
