Dan's Blahs on the Book of Luke... [Chapter 1]

I'm taking 13 subjects for SPM. I regret taking up so many. I thought I could cope, but now I know I can't. I'm going to start blogging about the book of Luke from the bible to help me remember for my Bible Knowledge paper. At the very least, I will have at least read through the book a few times throughly, then maybe I'll be able to recall back more! Killing two birds with one stone! The book of Luke was written by Luke? Haha... The book of Acts was also written by him.

The story begins... ~~~~~~

This book starts with the announcing of the birth of John.
In the reign of Herod, king of Judea, there was a priest named Zechariah received a vision. An angel appeared to him, and told him that he and his wife would bear a son, and they would name him John. John from birth would be filled with the Holy Spirit, and he will bring many people of Israel back to the Lord their God.

Zechariah doubted the thought of having a son, because at that time he was already very old. Because he did not believed in the angel's message, he was unable to speak until John was born. In the sixth month of Elizabeth's pregnancy, angel Gabriel was sent to a town to Nazareth to announce to Mary that she will bear to a son, and she was to name Him Jesus. Mary at that period of time was a virgin, and she was to marry Joseph soon.

Mary visits Elizabeth, and she stayed with her for 3 months. John is given birth. When the baby was a week old, they circumcised him and their neighbours and relatives wanted to name him Zechariah after his father, but the parents insisted on naming the baby John. And from that moment onwards, Zechariah was able to speak again!

Interesting story, huh?

Her Diamonds... by Rob Thomas

Oh what the hell she says I just can’t win for losing
And she lays back down
Man there’s so many times I don’t know what I’m doing
Like I don’t know now

By the light of the moon she rubs her eyes
Says it’s funny how the night
Can make you blind
I can just imagine

And I don’t know what I’m supposed to do
But if she feels bad then I do too
So I let her be

Chorus
And she says uuuh
I can’t take no more
Her tears like diamonds on the floor
And her diamonds bring me down
Cause I can’t help her now
She’s down in it
She tried her best and now she can’t win it’s
Hard to see them on the ground
Her diamonds falling down

She sits down and stares into the distance
And it takes all night
And I know I could break her concentration
Oooh but it don’t feel right

By the light of the moon she rubs her eyes
Sits down on the bed and starts to cry
And there’s something less about her
And I don’t know what I’m supposed to do
So I sit down and I cry too
Don’t let her see

Chorus
And she says uuuh
I can’t take no more
Her tears like diamonds on the floor
And her diamonds bring me down
Cause I can’t help her now
She’s down in it
She tried her best and now she can’t win it’s
Hard to see them on the ground
Her diamonds falling down

Bridge
She shuts out the night
Tries to close her eyes
If she can find daylight
She’ll be all right
She’ll be all right
Just not tonight

Chorus
And she says oooh
I can’t take no more
Her tears like diamonds on the floor
And her diamonds bring me down
CauseI can’t help her now
She’s down in it
She tried her best and now she can’t win it’s
Hard to see them on the ground
Her diamonds falling down
(repeat)

I can’t take no more
Diamonds on the floor
Her diamonds falling down

I can’t take this diamonds falling down

I like this song!

Kelas Cemerlang... (Additional Mathematics)

I think will not attend this class again. It's just so boring and hot! There were only 5 of us who attended his class. And basically, he just gives us exercises to do. I think I can do these exercises at home.

In that short period of an hour, his phone rang twice! I mean it's not wrong for teachers to answer their phones when they are teaching. But hasn't it gone a little too far? And his method of teaching is just so... He gives us exercises to do. And while we are trying to attempt the questions, he'll be explaining the solutions and answers to the questions. It's good of him, but shouldn't he at least give us time to complete the exercise first? What's the point of giving us the answers when we haven't even try attempting them?

I think no one listened to him talking that day, because all of us were doing the exercise he gave us. I think (if it's possible) I'll not attend this Additional Mathematics class again, or maybe I'll just switch to the Kelas Galus class. They said the Kelas Galus class was fun!

Kelas Cemerlang & Kelas Galus a.k.a Kelas Tambahan!!!

I got picked for 4 classes of Kelas Cemerlang and 1 Kelas Galus, a.k.a. extra class! Before this, this Kelas Cemerlang and Kelas Galus was held during school hours. Why do they need to change it to after school hours? And before this, I wasn't picked to attend any of such classes. This means staying back in school for 4 days until 3:15 p.m. or 4:30 p.m.! And I so do not want to stay back! It's so hot in the afternoon these days!!! How do you expect me to bear through this heat? It's just so hot! I can't even concentrate well at 12 noon, what more at 2 p.m.

My Kelas Cemerlang timetable:
Monday
2:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. Bahasa Malaysia
Tuesday
2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Biology
Wednesday
3:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. Additional Mathematics
Thursday
3:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. Chemistry

What am I supposed to do during Wednesday afternoon from 2 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.? I've got to waste an hour in school just to attend my Additional Mathematics Kelas Cemerlang.

My Kelas Galus timetable:
Thursday
2:15 p.m. - 3: 15 p.m. Bahasa Cina

This is one subject I'd need loads of help with.

Preparing Presents for Sister's Day...

As usual, every Sister's Day, the brothers have to prepare something for the sisters, and when it's Brother's Day, the sisters have to prepare something for the brothers.

Check out what the brothers did for Sister's Day!
CARDS!!! Some of them are pretty ugly though, boys ma. Don't have as much of creative juice as the girls.6 of us, guys met up last Sunday (College had no school, and Keat Hwa 2 had Hari Anugerah Cemerlang, we didn't ponteng!). While the others are busy doing cards, look what Yi Hong's doing... He eating also didn't belanja us! Haha... Jokes aside, we all used the whole morning working tirelessly to complete the presents for the sisters! So, sisters, be lucky that you have such good brothers!
End result: All the cards ready for Sister's Day!

It's so HOT in School!

At about 1 p.m. today at school, I was already sweating buckets of water! How can one even concentrate to what the teacher is teaching? I felt like dozing off when my history teacher was teaching today, but it was too HOT to sleep!

Why are our earth's temperature rising so much? Due to some people's irresponsible actions! Look at the haze! I thought open burning is illegal in Malaysia? Yet, people still burn. Just a few days ago, somebody started burning rubbish in my taman. Net result, loads of smoke. Why aren't we humans as the ones to supposed have brains aren't doing much to save our earth? Sighs...

School before Hari Anugerah Cemerlang...

I have well, like ponteng a few days of school this past week, mainly because almost no one is in class and also the teachers doesn't come into class to teach. Most of my friends in class are involved with either persembahan or they are taking anugerah.

I'm wondering why do they even have school since no one is going to be in class. If the school wants to do a full practice, do la after school. Don't disrupt during school hours lar. Sigh...

My School...

In another 100+ more days, I shall be leaving this school of mine, Keat Hwa II. This is both an exciting but also a frightening thought. What will happen after I leave secondary school? Taking Form 6? Go into private college? Matriculation? But after National Service of course.

Ah... Keat Hwa II, I'm glad I'm leaving this school! No more short hair! No more school rules! No more wearing the smart card! I think the only thing I'd miss the most is my friends. I'd get maybe almost no chance of meeting them all together at once again, expect for the day we get our SPM results.

Am I ready to leave Keat Hwa II yet? I'm not sure... :P

SPM is 125+ days... Am I prepared?

SPM is in 125+ days. Am I prepared? No! Not even close! And SPM is said to be an exam with no standard in the eyes of the world. How would I fare in other places, whose standard is much higher? I'm already struggling here!

Basically, I'm just too lazy to pick up my books and study. There are too many distractions around me. Computer, novels, etc... Because, once I'm hooked onto something, I can't stop. For example, once I'm hooked on to a novel, I won't put it down until I've finished it. Same goes for computer games. It's like my daily intake of "drugs".

Ah... I hope I can be more focus from now on, with more effort from my side, I'm sure i can achieve the results I want!

My School Library...

My school library has been upgraded and modernized recently... The school authorities have fixed up 8 CCTVs and a smart card "touch in" system in the library! The school gave a grant to build this sophisticated gadgets in the library to curb those who play truant. The people who enter and leave the library are always known to the principal through the CCTVs and smart card "touch in" system, because there is a direct live transmission in the principals' office.
The smart card "touch in" system...
The railing... (If you do not "touch in" your card, you can't get in!)
The counter where students borrow and return books, and also photocopy.
The computer to borrow and return books...
One of the eight CCTVs...
One sign a library will always consist of...

Reduce the Number of Cars on the Road, and We'll have a Cleaner Environment...

Reduce the number of cars on the road, and we’ll have a better environment. Do you notice that as the number of cars on the road increases, the weather gets hotter? We should also do something to decrease the number of cars on the road. Each of us can play an important role in making the environment a better place.

First of all, why reduce? Well, we should reduce the number of cars on the road to reduce the gases produced by the cars like carbon monoxide. The gases produced by the cars on the road are harming the environment! It’s thinning the ozone layer! It’s making the weather going to the extremes! When it’s hot, it’s very hot, when its cold, it’s very cold! And also, reducing the number of cars on the road will result in a cleaner environment. The earth is dying as I write, and if no action is taken soon, it will suffer further.

How can we reduce? How can we help to make the environment a better place? First of all, I think we ourselves should car-pool. By car-pooling, we can reduce the number of cars on the road. Net result, less harmful gases is released. Also, we’ll save money on petrol! We’ll also save on using our earth’s natural resources which are depleting greatly by the big usage by us, humans.

The government also can play an important role in making sure that we’ll have a better environment. The government should ensure more public transport, like buses and LRTs. It may seem costly at first, but later on, the benefits are great. The government would make a profit and also save the environment! By encouraging the public to take public transport, the government should make sure the buses arrive on time, and not late. People get flustered if the buses arrive late, because that means they’ll be late for their appointments. Buses should also have like a special debit card or use “Touch N Go”, where they can pay for their bus rides instead of having the hassle of buying coupons or paying cash to catch the bus. It’ll save labor, time and the trees needed to print those coupons!

The government could also encourage the public to cycle in the cities by creating bicycle lanes, but they must make sure the lanes are properly shaded by trees. Or we’ll be sweating from the heat. With foldable bikes around, we can hop from one LRT’s to another. This will reduce the number and need for cars in the city. It’ll be also be a form of exercise for us public too. We’ll burn away our calories, and the number of people obese will decrease in the country. Therefore, we’ll have a greener city and a cleaner environment, plus a healthy population.

So, by reducing the number of cars on the road, we’ll have a cleaner environment.

PLKN Centers...

Which center will I be sent to? There are 11 centers in Kedah. One in Sik, Kuala Nerang, Kulim, Merbok, Sintok, Baling respectively. There are 2 centers in Langkawi, and 3 in Kubang Pasu.

I think Langkawi's Beringin Beach Resort Camp would be rather nice, as there are water sports activities. But if anything happens, it'll be rather a hassle to get back to mainland, as they ferry ride is about an hour to mainland. And also sometimes, the sea may get very rough and cause the ferry operations to halt till the sea is calm again. In Perlis, there is one center that its dorms are air-conditioned.

I wonder where I'll be sent to. Somewhere with friends I hope... =)

Decisions...

Why are decisions so hard to make?

Why am I afraid of making wrong decisions?
