It's the first time Spain is listed as the world's best since the introduction of rankings in 1992. This ranking system is based on international results over the past four years with more points awarded for wins in major tournaments.
The current placings for the top 10 countries:
- Spain
- Italy
- Germany
- Brazil (Brazil number 4? Unbelievable, I thought Brazil was the best!)
- Holland
- Argentina
- Croatia
- Czech Republic
- Portugal (What? My favorite team is at almost the bottom of the 10?)
- France
Chile is going to take on the newly crowned Euro 2008 champs in an international friendly in Valencia on Nov 19. Chile is also going to take on Turkey in Istanbul on Aug 20.
Hm... I wonder if Spain can still stand strong and beat Chile.
