Sunday '090308 Malaysia Decided

Yesterday was the day, Malaysia decided. The results are out.
Barisan National as usual, since 1957, will form the next Government. It won more than half the parliamentary seats.
But, this election, Barisan National had some big loses. It has suffered the greatest defeats in its history. Barisan has lost some never lost states for the past few elections. Among the states that were lost are Kedah, Penang, Perak and Selangor.
PAS has strengthen it's grip in Kelantan.
A few big guns of Barisan National lost. The president of MIC, Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu lost to Dr D. Jeyakumar (PKR). Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil lost to Nurul Izzah Anwar (PKR). And Datuk Seri Zainuddin Maidin lost to Johari Abdul.
Gerakan acting president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon also lost to Dr P. Ramasamy in the Batu Kawan parliamentary seat.
