What happened to the search of Sharlinie?

I was walking by Pacific the other day, when I saw the poster of Sharlinie in one of the stones. The newspaper has failed to update the public about it. The public would want to know the progress of the case.

I've read somewhere that it is almost a year since Sharlinie went missing after going to a night market alone. She was kidnapped on Aug 20, 2007 if I'm not mistaken. I've read somewhere that her father is no longer getting updates from the police anymore. Aren't the police solving and investigating the case? Surely justice must be done and the crooks must be caught. And surely, the parents must be updated on the progress of the case.

Malaysia no longer looks a safe place to live in. A few years back, there seemed to be less crime. Police, do your thing!

How has Malaysia fared so far in the Olympics....

Well, frankly speaking, I think that Malaysia will only win a medal or two in this Olympics in Beijing. And the medal would come from either Malaysia's men's single's or doubles, or women single's badminton team.

On the first day, Malaysia's swimmer Lew Yih Wey, competed in the 400 m individual medley heats. Well, I think she wouldn't have qualified, because Malaysia's swimmers aren't world standard yet. She was 3rd in heat 1, clocking 4:55.83 but did not beat the national record of 4:50.52. In archery, Cheng Chu Sian, Mohd Marbawi Sulaiman and Wan Khalmizan Wan Abdul Aziz qualifified and finished third in the elemination round.

On the second day, the badminton event started. The women's doubles lost (which was no surprise) to Korea's Lee Kyung-won-Lee Hyo-Jung 14-21, 19-21. Anyway, it was the first women's doubles pair to qualify the Olympics. In women's singles, Wong Mei Choo won Kerry Lee Horrington easily of South Africa, 21-4, 21-4. In swimming, Daniel Bego was number 44 out of 52 swimmers in 200m freestyle. And Khoo Cai Lin was sixth in the 400 m freesyle heats. She was way off her own national record of 4:17.86. She clocked 4:23.37 in the 400 m freestyle. Amrul Hamizan Ibrahim competed in the men's 56 kg weightlifting, but did not win.

Women Singles - Wong Mei Choo IN

Current FIFA World Rankings...

Here is the most current FIFA world rankings... It's a pity Portugal is still number 9... And it is shocking to see Brazil so low. It is Brazil's lowest position in 15 years. They have always been in the top 5. Their worst was in 1993, 8th in the world...
  1. Spain
  2. Germany
  3. Italy
  4. Holland
  5. Croatia
  6. Brazil
  7. Argentina
  8. Czech Republic
  9. Portugal
  10. Russia
  11. Romania
  12. France
  13. Turkey
  14. England
  15. Cameroon
  16. Scotland
  17. Bulgaria
  18. Greece
  19. Ghana
  20. Israel
Where is Malaysia? I doubt that Malaysia will enter the list in 25 years time. Malaysia's team sucks. Although Malaysia's team is showing improvement. In the recent Chelsea friendly with Malaysia's team, Malaysia didn't lose as bad as I expected. Malaysia only lost 0-2, which is quite good.
Those in red are the ones i thought is not up to their best standard...

Homework... Good or Bad?

These days, teachers either give too much homework, or no homework at all. Which is better? Most days in school, except exam time, we students are burdened by the thought of having to complete all the homework given by the school teacher. By the end of the day, we students spend all our energy just to complete the homework, giving us no time to develop interests or pursue hobbies.

In a normal day in school, there are 10 periods, about 5 to 6 subjects taught everyday. If every teacher gives homework, imagine the amount of homework you need to do. One will need to burn the midnight oil just to finish the homework given by the teacher. Because homework, would be needed to pass up to the teacher the following day. Furthermore, students nowadays are occupied with tuitions and extra classes. How is one to cope? It is no wonder why students are so tired at the end of the day...

I'm not against giving homework, because practice makes prefect. But is giving excessive amount of homework good? In fact, sometimes giving homework might do harm. If one feels so pressured in completing the homework, one will just resolve by copying other people's answers. Doing harm to the copier.

So is homework good or bad? My opinion, homework should be given in moderate amount, not too much, not too little. This will give we students time to pursue interests, or maybe locate a hidden talent, or some time revising or exercising...

Home Sweet Home...

What makes a home? Love? Sympathy? Or confidence? Parents take care of their children, and children are curious of what their parents do. Thus, all of them would be bound together with love and affection.

A home, without love, is like a man without a soul. One cannot live alone, although man is successful and rich, for he, will find something missing in his life. Prosperity alone cannot ensure happiness.

No matter your home is rich or poor, big or small, everyone should do their duty to make it cheerful and comfortable in their respectable homes. An old saying goes “The greater the difficulties, the richer your reward”.

If a man can’t do anything for his home, he can’t do anything for his country. A home is the basic origin of civilization. Homes are important to each and everyone. To you, to me, to anyone…

Lunch beside a big old tree...

Fancy eating beside a big, centuries old tree? Today was a rather hot day. Surprisingly, it was rather cool in there. It is true that a tree can produce a cooling effect of 10 air-cons. Well, this restaurant is located in Jalan Putra next to Sentosa Regency Hotel. The name of this restaurant is "Restoran YUYI". I had lunch there with my mother, lil sis, the Lohs and Aunty M.
Heading towards d restaurant... See that big tree beside it?
The place...
Sweet sour pork... Ok lah...
Mantis prawns... My favourite... (One of the better ones)
Spicy Kangkung...
AND the main course, fish!
What was left after 7 hungry people gobbled everything up... :)
They talked and talked for a long time. I just sat there and listened. Aunty M. told about her con-man stories. And Aunty Nancy joined in too. Anyway, the food quite nice la... If you want to see the big tree, go to this restaurant and eat.
